A New Type Of Go Kart Racing Has Arrived In VR

admin No Comments

We all know that Mario Kart VR is something that most people want on their HMD. But with the licensing of the game by Bandai Namco through Nintendo, us regular folk aren’t able to play the experience on our virtual reality headsets. Rather, you have to travel to an attraction in D.C., London, or Tokyo to play the game.
However, the good folks at IMGN.PRO announced that Indie studio Black Delta has released a kart racing simulation in VR called KartKraft. The game itself is in early access but you will be able to drive and drift around the courses. Currently, KartKraft is available in Early Access for $19.99.

KartKraft is an extreme kart racing sim with the advanced vehicle physics. You will have to master the skill of racing karts on laser-scanned, fully recreated circuits. Users will be able to accelerate to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds with no suspension, while racing against 20 other drivers. You can feel your kart bend, twist and bounce on every bump, crack, and curb in the track as you drive on officially licensed circuits from around the world. You will also learn what it takes to corner at over 2.5Gs while balancing on only three wheels as your engine screams at 21,000 RPM and your tires squeal, slide and deform, trying to grip the track. Note: No suspension, no downforce, no seatbelts.
Early Access Game Features:

Circuits: Three laser-scanned, fully recreated circuits (The Geelong Kart Club, Go Kart Club of Victoria and Paul Fletcher International).
Karts: 8 officially licensed kart models – from manufacturers like Arrow, CRG, Deadly, Formula K, Monaco, OK1, Praga, Sodi.
Asynchronous PvP Leaderboard Mode: Race against all players to earn spots on the leaderboard; see where you rank against your friends, your country and across the globe.

WIth every lap recorded and uploaded, you can see where you competitor brakes, turns and accelerates to gain a competitive edge.

Single Player Mode: Players will race against AI, but results will be judged against all other players (available from second week of EA)
Levels of Difficulty: Easy, Medium, Hard, Legend, Adaptive (available from second week of EA)
Customization:

Kart: hundreds of parts and components that all affect handling. Swap out axles, sprockets, carburetors, rims, hubs, torsion bars, and many more. If you can see it, you can change it. The number of possible configurations will grow substantially during EA progress.
Driver: Kit up in the latest gear from Alpinestars, Arai, Freem, Momo, OMP, and Sparco with more being added during Early Access content updates.

Minimum Requirements: 64-Bit Windows 7 Service Pack 1 or Windows 8, Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD FX-8120, 4 GB RAM, Geforce GTX 760, DirectX Version 11, 32GB available storage, Integrated card
Recommended Requirements: 64-Bit Windows 10, Intel Core i5-86000K or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, 16 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 1070 8GB, DirectX Version 11, 32GB available storage, Integrated sound card

Here is a list of features and updates that will be added during Early Access:

Improved physics.
Optimization for lower spec hardware.
Circuits: The addition of 10 laser-scanned, fully recreated circuits.
Classes: Eight additional classes of karts.
Modding: Modding support.
Manufacturers: Feature 20 additional manufacturers.
Multiplayer: Online multiplayer with skill-based matching.

“I raced karts for five years and retired after blowing up three red valve Formula 100 motors in the same weekend.  At the same time I was racing, I was studying Computer Science and game development so that I could make games about the sport I love.  KartKraft is a labor of love for me and my team.  It took us longer than we expected, but we are excited to share our first game with our fans,” said Zach Griffin, CEO, Black Delta.
Make sure to give KartKraft a look!

Mario Kart VR Coming To Washington D.C.

admin No Comments

HTC has announced that they’ll be partnering up with Bandai Namco to bring the VR Zone Portal to the United States. This will include the highly anticipated Mario Kart VR game.
We’ve seen plenty of videos of users getting to experience what Mario Kart VR is like overseas but people in the states will finally be able to experience it in person at the newly announced VR Zone. The new center will be located off the national mall in downtown Washington D.C. and include multiple experiences.

Mario Kart VR is a multiplayer experience that offers four players a chance to hop into the world of Mario Kart and experience racing through the iconic Mushroom Kingdom as either Mario, Luigi, Peach, or Yoshi.
Mario Kart VR will not only feature industry-leading graphics but, in homage to the original game, Vive’s Tracker technology will allow players to reach up and grab classic items like banana skins to pelt their opponents with. Additionally, Mario Kart VR will boast haptic feedback capabilities, creating a truly four-dimensional experience that allows players to feel every single twist and turn.
Steve Ignarski, National Sales Manager for BANDAI NAMCO Amusement America, said “BANDAI NAMCO is thrilled to be a part of the innovative, cutting-edge project that is VR ZONE Portal. The launches in Japan and the UK brought great success, and we hope to follow suit in Washington, D.C. Mario Kart VR is a long-awaited title and we have no doubt it will be well-received in the states, due to its incredible, immersive game-play and outstanding equipment from HTC Vive.”
Another title featured in this location, the single-player Argyle Shift, places you as the test pilot on a mission to drop your robot into a designated zone. Set in Japan in A.D 2145 where two corporations govern the land, there is an enemy attack during flight forcing you to engage in battle with the help of ‘Eine’, your Artificial Intelligence humanoid friend. The motion seats move in synchronisation to match your piloting skills of the giant mech.
The VR Center is said to launch in late September, which should be around today’s time. We will provide further updates shortly.
